Prior to his ministry studies and subsequent ordination in 2012, John was an electronics engineer. He served as an Elder in the Falkirk church he and his family attended, running the church youth club and the Summer and Easter children’s missions. It was through this work John first recognised his call to full-time ministry.
He studied at Edinburgh University and, following a probation period in Grangemouth, moved to Kirriemuir and the Charge of St. Andrew’s l/w Oathlaw Tannadice. A particular draw was to be part of the established team ministry of WAAM.
As well as parish duties, John has served with the (now former) Mission and Discipleship Council and continues to be involved in Presbytery duties, convening the Supporting Mission Forum.
Hobbies include technology (gadgets especially), reading, and photography.
