The toddler group takes place in the Church hall on Friday Mornings from 10.30 am to 12noon. Approximately eight to twelve adults plus their children meet at each session. There is the potential to start another weekly session as the group is very popular.

Membership is open to all child carers (mothers, fathers, grandparents, or childminders) and their pre-school children from birth to five years (although it is unusual for children over three years to attend).

The group is run by a committee of parents assisted by church members who help out during sessions.

We are members of the Scottish Pre-school Play Association (SPPA) which is a charity committed to the development of quality care and education in pre-school groups.

As a member group of the SPPA we accept the following principles:

bullet

Children learn and develop through play

bullet

Parents are the prime educators of their children

We try to put these principles into practice by providing toys and equipment suitable for children from birth to 3 to 5 years. Activities such as craftwork and learning games are provided to stimulate the older children. The adults are encouraged to interact with their children and participate in these activities.

There is a £2 per adult annual membership fee plus a subscription of 50p per adult at each weekly session.
